Peace Corps Republic of Moldova
Taught English classes to approximately 150 students (ages ************) at a Moldovan school with two local partner teachers, and collaborated with school staff to promote English studies.
Tutored Moldovan students through English clubs and private lessons; motivated students to participate more in classroom activities, to improve their test scores, and built confidence in English.
Guided one outstanding student in her English studies, and helped her apply and get accepted into the FLEX Program, where she studied in the U.S. for one academic year.
Wrote two successful project grants, including a USAID-funded grant, which resulted in approximately $3000 for each project, to build a new computer lab and install new learning equipment in the English classrooms.
Mentored four incoming Peace Corps volunteers, shared available resources for volunteers, and participated in panel discussions about life in Moldova.
Conducted education training workshops for over 25 Moldovan English teachers, which provided them with new and sustainable teaching methods.
Encouraged growth and development among Moldovan youth while serving as a camp counselor at two local summer camps.
